How Certification Works (back to all tutorials)

The goal of certification is to ensure that your application uses the Veriplace API and any resulting location data responsibly. Our Developer Terms of Service describes what this means in detailed legalese; however most applications will acquire certification should the spirit of behaving responsibly be upheld.

  1. What we check

Our certification process is constantly evolving; however the following items are sure to be checked:

    • Is your branding and application content appropriate? Does it accurately represent you and your application?
    • Does your end-user notice accurately describe how you use location?
    • Are you in compliance with our Developer Terms of Service, especially with respect to data retenation and sharing location data with third parties?
    • Does your application provide adequate safeguards to protect the privacy of Veriplace users and ensure the security of location data?
    • Does your application properly handle privacy opt-in and opt-outs using the Veriplace API?
